What I’m working on
A few things keeping me busy these days:
Research & Modeling
TipBig-picture question
How can Colombia and Latin America build cost-effective, low-carbon energy systems, and how can energy modeling inform the policies that get us there?
- Building energy-system models and electricity-demand profiles for Colombia as an Energy Modeler at the National Mining and Energy Planning Unit (UPME), contributing to the National Energy Plan (2025-2055) as the transport-sector modeler.
- Working on a technical, economic, and environmental assessment of green ammonia production in Colombia, toward a national roadmap.
- Continuing research with the UREMA Research Unit at Universidad del Norte on transport electrification and industrial decarbonization across Latin America.
Open to collaboration on
- Energy systems modeling (EnergyPLAN, OSeMOSYS)
- Renewable energy integration and power system planning
- Transport electrification and decarbonization
- Industrial decarbonization (steel, cement, hydrogen, ammonia)
- Energy modeling to support public policy
